You can even mirror your iPhone or Android screen onto Apple CarPlay for live group tracking on the go.

🔧 Important Setup Notes

1. Maptiler API Key Required
   This platform uses OpenStreetMap via Maptiler. A default API key is provided:
   FfF7uHtK81tulkAoNJXn (used in /public/groupstracking.js).
   If this key expires, you’ll need to generate your own free API key here.

2. Firebase Cloud Function Permissions
   You must have a Firebase plan that supports Cloud Functions. Then:

   • Go to the Cloud Functions tab

   • Select the function (checkbox)

   • Click "Add members" under the Permissions tab

   • Enter allUsers as the new member

   • Assign role: Cloud Functions > Cloud Functions Invoker

   • Save changes

3. Privacy & Accuracy Settings
   For privacy protection, locations are fuzzed within ~8km by default.

   Track approximate or exact locations. The default setting masks precise location for privacy, but you can update the code for more accurate results.

   Location tracking only occurs when the website is open in your browser. Simply closing the site ends tracking—ideal for respecting employee privacy outside of work hours. Unlike GPS hardware, this method doesn’t track users beyond their consented timeframe.
